my buddie had to have his ignition replaced. and we watched the guy have a hell of time getting his ignition out. put a towel over the tank when doing this. this guy ended up scratching my buddies tank.

I'm thinking its going to be a headache to remove. I'll wait till the weekend to do it. I dont want to pull it and have to leave the bike with no ignition over night in the car port.

I'm going to stop by the kawi deal across the street from my job at lunch to see if they can get me another key. I don't have the key number but I do have one of the original keys the vin and all that fun stuff. Maybe my key is some how worn or messed up and thats causing the problem. If that doesn't work then I will remove it try cleaning it. Last resort would be buying a new one. I don't want to have to have 2 keys one for the gas cap and one for the bike.[:'(]

you can always find a new set from ebay or a local recycler.

Sound like the tumblers inside the switch is sticking or bent. Someone may have tried to steal your bike and stuck a screwdriver inside the ignition and forced it. You can take it to the dealer and they can replace the lock barrel and cut tumblers so the original key will fit.

Get an alarm!

Hmm. The lock doesn't look like any one has messed with it. I'll give the dealer a call see how much they want for a new lock barrel

Something sounds screwy besides the tumblers. Could be like speed mentioned about someone tampering with your ride.

before I went to high 36 it did it once or twice but after trying to turn it like 2 or 3 times it would turn all the way. Then when I went to 36 it got really bad. I am in the process of trying to find a new ignition lock and gas lid so I can still use one key for them both.
