Default Hard Shifting please help ASAP

Hello all I havent posted here for awhile, sorry about that. But i have a 2006 Ninja ZX6R 636. My issue is that the bike is having a hard time shifting up and down. For example if I'm in second gear and wanting to go to 3rd gear I'll have to move the lever down a bit and shift up. Seems to me the shift lever doesnt reset to put that tension back on it. Have any of you encountered this?

welcome back Stang636

How is the shift linkage? Everything nice and tight? The lever still tight on the splined shaft? Clutch cable adjustments...etc.

Cable in great shape, shift fine but doesnt the foot pedal doesnt return to load the next desried shift. I believe i found the problem, the pivot point on the foot pedal wasnt returning. I took the pivot point apart and found no lubrication and dirt build up. So cleaned all parts re-lubed and seems to be shifting fine in a short distance. I'll keep you guys updated and see how it rides, to school today. Thanks for the speedy responses!
