Was out riding today on Rt. 68 outside of Dayton, Ohio and a 2007 Z06 Vette flew by me and i took off and i ran my bike till it quit pulling and wouldnt climb anymore and the vette was still gaining on me.... that was effin nuts!!

 

Yep... top end on those cars are crazy

 

bikes aren't meant for top speed, not to mention they are aerodynamic nightmares, i've seen an M6 pull away easilyfrom a cbr1000rr and 05 gsx-r1000 topping out at 183 mph,a bike will kill almost anything but when you hit mid triple digits you'd have to have a damnnicesetup to keep up with any car over 500 hp that's geared decently high

still sounds like a freaking blast

Yeah, most bikes hit a Aerodynamic barrier at around 185 mph. It takes 240 HP to break 200 MPH on a Bike. The faster the bike goes the more drag it creates, whereas a car can streamline better at higher speeds. The Z06 & other Hi-perf cars will pass abike if they can go over 190 mph. I think the Vette is rated at 205 mph.

Also have to be careful at sustained High speeds like that; our tires aren't rated for that. Hate to have a front or rear tire blow out at 180 mph.

I had some guy in a lambo galarodo try to run me on the freeway once. never got the bike to high up in the speed. we nailed it at about 65ish mph. I let off at about 130 and was a good amount a head of the car.

 

well my speedo was reading 158 when i looked at it and he was way ahead of me so i just gave up

 

sounds like you made the right decision. it would have been really funny if you would have told us down the raod you saw the vett pulled over by a cop for going so fast.

 

From personal expirences, where ilive there are no performance cop cars.. just old crown vics and new mailbus... if your going over 100 and there sitting still they wont even try to catch you, just radio ahead but you can get off that road and they cant get your plate # so your pretty good... but around cleveland, columbus, toledo, and cincy they've got new "chase" cars that are magnacharged Z06 vettes that are like 800hp and would have no problem catching a busa and getting the plate #'s off it and then backing off and sending cops to there house... *** holes lol jm jm
