nice bike bro...still love the black!! as far as the break in, everyone has their own opinion..i used this method http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm Ive never had a problem with my engine. On the opposite side, people who broke it in using the manufacturers method, I havent heard complaints that way either, so its up to you
Enjoy the bike!!

You should get use to it after a while.... As fare as break in yes I've seen the both of them they both work. To my beleif as long as you change your oil at its recomended intervals, and not out reving the crap out of it, or on the other side and shifting to soon putting to much of a load on her, keep it going through the rpms and try not to stay at the same rpm for to long, if ya have to slow down speed up or shift down every once in a while.... I think what ya doing now is fine.

Congrats on the new bike. I love the color!!!
I broke mine in easy but not nearly as easy as the manual states. I kept it under 7k instead of the recommend 4k. I would get run over trying to ride the streets of Dallas under 4k RPM.

yeah i havent been able to abide by the factory break in specs having only driven the bike a few days now lol. ive been going semi easy like 7k or less, sometimes a little more but for the most part not.
figured that page with talking about breaking it in hard, and with the factory break in specs.... somewhere semi inbetween would be just fine.
im basicaly driving it how i want for a beginner and still learning. getting on it when i want, but also taking it easy most of the time.
everyday is getting more and more fun
