got into an accident..questions.
hey guys. i just got my bike a few weeks ago and i got into an accident already. i was in the backroads taking some corners and i took one too fast and wiped out. the whole right side of my bike is f***ed up. frame is all scratched to hell, my right riew view mirror broke off..pretty much its jacked up. i'll try and post pictures tomorrow. but my question is...do bike shops repair these kinds of damages? and what am i looking to pay? to my knowledge, there are no mechanical damges...i just rode it back home. the right side is all scractched up and theres a small dent on my gas tank...Oh and my right frame sliders fell off and couldnt find it...any help would be appreciated. thanks!

do it yourself, not hard at all. as for the dent in the tank take that to a shop maybe 150 max.
since the frame slider faild, talk to the company you got them from sometimes you can get those replaced becasue they want to do r and d on the failed unit
glad to hear you are ok

A little common sense and mechanical aptitude goes along way. A manual, a few screws, a couple of plastic quick rivets and a beer and you are all done. Beats the $70/hr or so price tag of a dealer telling or doing the same thing.

+1... If you take it to a shop, you are going to get ripped off. Did it ride alright on your way back home? As long as the ride was good, and their wasn't any difference in how it ran or handled, you'll be find. Just buy a new gas tank, and some aftermarket body work, a new mirror, and get in touch with the manufacturer of the frame sliders so you can get them to replace it. You'll save a lot of money, and feel better doing it. Glad to hear you are okay. It sucks about your bike, but it's a lot easier to replace body parts on your bike than it is to replace parts of your body.
