front end wobble
here is the problem i recently put on vortex lowering links going a inch and a half. also lowering the front inch and a half also. i had to then shim the rear back up .5 inch. so the rear is now 1 inch and front is 1.5 at about 100 mph and up getting on it and just crusing the front seems as if the front wheels is wiggling and does not have a ver good traction pad. anyonegot a clue on whats up or how to fix?

RE: front end wobble
HEADSHAKING and TANKSLAPPERS
Causes of the shakes are:
- road surface (extreme road camber or potholes or corrugations)
- loose handlebars or clipons (serious!)
- rider posture (sitting too far back)
- loose or worn front axle bearings or axle
- loose or worn headstem bearings
- incorrectly aligned front wheel
- loose forks or fork clamps
- loose brake caliper (generally only on one side)
- misaligned fairing (which touches or restricts one fork)
- incorrect front suspension setting (generally much too hard or soft)
- too much power being applied (reduce throttle usage...hahahaha)
- flat front tyre (or incorrect air pressure)
- flat rear tyre (or incorrect air pressure)
- tyre/wheel imbalance (unusual)
- incorrect front tyre wear (sides scalloped or worn profile)

RE: front end wobble
Make sure you tightened all the bolts and even if you did, and like everyone says, with that much change it is to be expected. 1.5 inch is a lot/ too much. You should keep them even or less lowerin the front.

RE: front end wobble
At 100 MPH your going to feel a little light normally, but not like what your talking about. Your drop is very radical. As some one said, less than a inch would be ideal. Plus as everyone else said, check everything.

RE: front end wobble
By lowering the front more than the rear you have reduced the front rake and made the bike more unstable at high speeds. It probably steers very quick in the turns though. Even a couple of mm's / 1/8 inch can make a big difference. Most tire tests only lower a max of 10mm..5 inches will/ has made a lot as you've experienced. What year is your bike? The 03-04's were slightly less stable at speeds than the 05-06's and prone to tankslappers when the front got light under hard acceleration.
