Frame Sliders
I finally went and picked up some vortex sliders todday. It took me about an hour to install them, woulda been quicker but I went slow with the dremel tool so I wouldn't screw the fairing up. It came out looking real clean. I went with the vortex for a couple reasons.
1. Carbon Fiber ones are on the thin side
2. Metal sliders can actually speed the bike up when laid down, the plastic with absorb some shock on impact and create friction to slow the bike down.
3. The no cut sliders don't hold up if the bike is laid down while moving. Think about the physics 400 pound bike getting slammed onto a 3/8" piece of aluminum 2" long, they snap off. (ask any local shop about it, Gixxers are notorious for this hapening since they are the first bike to employ the no cut kit)
4. My race mechanic is a stunter and has laid his bike down probably about 100 times, the sliders have held up every time.
I have seen both on bikes on this foum and on the street, and they look nice and don't mean to fire anyone up. Just wanted to give those without em some thought if they are going to look into em. It's all about preference like everything else with our bikes. I went with more assurance IF I would ever need em. If you are scared about cutting your fender, if you go slow it is easy, or any shop can do it in about 30 minutes.

RE: Frame Sliders
Every story that I've heard about the no cut sliders don't hold up have been fron guys who haven't used them, from the guys who have them and have gone down with them, I've heard nothing but how the held up. I'm talking about 40+ mph stuff not driveway laydowns either. What I have heard about no cuts breaking are actual the mount bolts. You can't expect a 6/8 mm bolt to hold up to crash, but when you have a 12mm bolt, this will hold up. I have not one worry about my sliders holding up if I need it to do what it's made for.
btw, like the ghost on the side, is that a sticker or airbrush?

They are airbrushed decals....so I can take em off with out sandpaper if I so choose to... I got em off ebay, the decal I put uner my rear set is another decal I got off ebay. It's all that I am doin in the way of graphic visuals. I don't want to over due and take away from the look of the bike itself...
