Default Flipping The Clip-Ons

Hey guys its been a while. I had some free time recently so what could be better to do than a free mod. The bike is a million times more comfortable now and personally i think it has alot better turn in at low speed. Anyway this mod is to basically put the left clip on the right side and the right clip on on the left side flipped. If anyone has any ?'s let me know...

Take a side or a level shot from the back. So do the bars angle up now or still down? And do they clear the fairing and tank when you turn?

Its kinda hard to take a picture that shows the difference between this and stock but this might do. They do point a little upward but they are pretty even. It does not hit the fairing or tank at all because you can adjust it however you want.

it SHOULD raise them up a bit. stunters flip them to gain a little extra height instead of going with a dirtbike bar. looks good, and is it really more comfortable?

Yea it does raise em quite a bit... i cannot explain how much more comfortable it is. Now that I have done this I could not imagine riding it stock. I can easily ride double what I used to be able to because my back/wrists/neck don't hurt or don't hurt as much any more. I had wondered before I did it if handling would be sacrificed for comfort but if anything it is better. Slow speed handling is much improved. Overall its easily one of the best mods I did and the only "modification" necessary is to either relocate you brake reservoir or bend the mount to fit on the bolt that holds the clip on in place... i did the latter.

looks good man. the only problem i see doing this on an 05-06 is that the clipons are help in place to the upper tripple clamp. how are the 03-04 held on?

if i did it on the 06 then i wouldent be able to "adjust" them like you say you can

Well on the 03-04 they are held in place by a bolt under the triple clamp. Im not sure if its the same way on the 05-06 but all you gotta do is take out that bolt and then its smooth sailing. The only thing is just make sure the bolts that hold the clip ons are tight.

on the 05-06 there is a horozontal bolt that holds clip on to the fork tube.
there is another that runs vertical from the clip on up into the tripple clamp.

Is that the same as the 03-04?

Thanks for the pics. Yes, it's the same on the 05/06 as on the 03-04. In fact, the clip-ons are the same too so it should work. I bet they are way more comfortable on your wrists and back? Great Idea!
