first probs with the bike, need help/ "update with pics"
hey all, soo kinda nice day 2day, took the bike out to get gas, ran fine, was going back home bout mile from home, it just dies, wont start again, i now hear a clicking noise near the seat when i try and start it... its a 95 zx6r
"so as you can see in the pic, i took off some of the tape to see how far my bad wire is, and i found out i have 2 neg wires,, the one on the far left side was connected to the battery and one on the right wasnt, so any idea to why i have 2 negative wires?? should both be on the battery?? and you can see how bad the wire burned up..

I Believe its the starter relay clicking
Try jiggling your key around in there, maybe it will get power.
All the way to the right(clockwise) isnt always best. On mine if you
turn it all the way right it MIGHT have power but it definately wont fire up.
Make sure you have enough batt power and keep jiggling just in case

the first thing I would do is take those cables off and clean them really good and clean the battery terminals also, is there corrosion on them, check to see if theres any damage to the cable and make shure the cable connection is not loose

The negative wire is corroded and needs to be replaced. It is causing too much resistance because it isn't making a good contact for the current to flow through.

After you fix the wires up, check the switch on the clutch. Mine is f'ed up right now too, it has to be in neutral to start. Seems to be a common problem with the j models.

Check the cable going to the sarter also to make sure it's tight. There is als a ground wire that bolts to the engine case; make sure that is clean & tight. You need to take a wire brush or some sandpaper and clean the battery posts, terminals and ground points on the frame and engine. You may have to unplug the smaller wire from the battery cable and clean that also. Replace the burnt wires by splicing in new ones.
