Hey guys...just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this. I was doing about 75mph (ya...going slow for a change) and all the sudden my FI light pops on. I pull over and my idle is stuck at about 3500 RPM. Turn the bike off and on 2 or 3 times and it idles down and it is normal...went to pull onto the freeway and the bike has no power (bike went into limp mode when the FI light came on). Bike would still run...just like crap and wouldn't go over the 75mph which was the speed I was going when the FI light came on. Took it into my local stealership and they tell me this is the 6th 06 636 they have seen with this problem. They had to replace the whole throttle body assembly. Anyone else have this problem. I'm just wondering when kawi is going to do a recall....or if they will at all. Be safe!

 

hmmm.. i wonder if thats whats going on with my bike. how many miles are on your bike and did warranty cover it?

 

I have 11k on it and ya the warranty covered it thank god. I would imagine replacing the trottle body would cost a pretty penny. Only took them about 1.5 hours to R & R It...I just waited at the shop and I was good to go. I made Kawi Next Day Air it at there cost to.... )

 

ok, i need to do that myself. did you call kawi first or go to the shop first? i know i have a fuel injection problem, but i guess i have to let them diagnose it.. nevermind i guess i just answered my own question. i have 10grand on my bike so thats good news they covered yours. i hope they cover mine.

 

Same thing happened to mine and a buddys bikes....within a week of each other

 

Sounds like a bigger problem than kawasaki thinks it is. Hopefully they do a recall cause it sucks to have it happen!!!
