FEW MORE QUESTIONS
How many teeth are on the factory rear sprocket? Mine is aftermarket and has 40 in the rear.
Two things i feel i will need to know is, what is the torque specs for the nuts that tighten the rear sprocket into place, and what is the torque spec for the rear axle Nut, the big nut that i will have to remove to remove the rear wheel?
also this bike has 29,500 miles. im not sure of the mantainence scedual but it looks as if it was very well taken care of. But what i must ask is how long do sparkplugs last? at what mileage should i check, regap, or replace them? what are the best plugs for the bike? the longest lasting? whats the torque spec for the sparkplugs? What should the gap be set to? To check sparkplugs and clean airfilter im assuming i have to remove the gastank carrect?
do you guys ever use a fuel additave for carb and choke cleaner. like a car with fuel injection cleaner in the gas, do they sell carb cleaner i put in the gastank to cleaN CARB and stuff. just feel like checking and maintaining the beautiful bike.

RE: FEW MORE QUESTIONS
not sure about the specs, one of the 6R owners here will answer you soon.
The additive is okay I here a few people use it, Seafoam comes to mind. I try to fill up with Chevron gas, It has an additive already in it and it helps keep things like valves and injectors or carb parts clean.

Not sure on the sprockets either.... Someone will know tho....
I change plugs every 15,000 miles... If you have to regap, throw it away. Plugs are cheap enough to replace...To get to the plugs, tank comes off. If you can't see light thru the air filter, you might as well change it.. Don't waste your time blowing it out.
You should replace plugs with NGK's... Stay with what works. If you try to put a cheaper brand plug in, they have a different resistence value, and bike might not run quite right.
I run some Berryman cleaner thru every 3rd tank of gas... Usually only add 1/3 maybe 1/4 of a bottle.... That is more of a preventitive maintance tho' and not a fix.
29,500 on a 2001...That's some pretty decent riding man..... GL

RE: FEW MORE QUESTIONS
Welcome to the Forum. Sounds like you really need to pick up a service manual for your bike. It's a great way to know about your bike and learn a lot about bikes in general. You can get one on ebay cheap on CDrom for less than $10 probably. Soon we'll be asking you questions.
Your rear sprocket is a 40T stock.
You can get more info/ spec about your bike at: http://www.kawasaki.com/Default.asp?...D=2&intParts=1
