I just received my slip on Akrapovic exhaust for my zx6r 2005 Ninja. I installed it and went out around the block.
2 minutes later I was pulled over by the police. reason, exhaust was too loud.

I need help. where can I find a silencer or a db killer/reducer for this exhaust on my bike?
I need something to reduce the noice.

As I understand it, if you didn't buy the "STREET LEGAL" line of the Akrapovic exhaust line, you're kinda out of luck. None of the other versions designed by them are set to the noise emission standards currently in place in most cities. Try calling the people you bought the system from. They should know.

but they dont make a street legal slip on for my bike.

what bothers me the most, is that my bike isnt even that loud.
there are louder bikes like harley's and ducati monsters running around

 

Just a ? but what did the police do or say? How did thay know it wasnt legal? I just dont know how they would know it wasnt legal. More info please

 

They said it was too loud. They told me to put the original back on. "unnecessary noise" he called it.

Anyway, I took the exhaust back of today.

I will make a post for sale in the classifieds later, if anyone is interested.
