Default exhaust...which one?

Ok so now that I sold my condo I got a little money and would like to buy a slip-on but thee thangs are expensive! I remember like 8 mnths ago I saw Scorpian slip-ons for like $300; maybe I'm wrong but now they are $500+. The Yoshi's are in the $300 range but everyone has those and dont they sound kinda tin can-ish? i want a deeper sounding exhaust. i dont want a screamer.

Any suggestions of what would suit me and any suggestions on where the best priced exhaust's are. I like the look of the Scorpian and heard good things. But am I gonna have to dish out $500+ no matter what?

Also am I going to have to get a PC commander or whatever? Also there is a race air filter on it, is that messing with the computer as well?

i have hear the yoshi and akra in person, and they sound good.

People also say that the 2bros is deep, but it's alot more than $500. You can get nice pipes for less than $500, look around online.

The companies say that for just a slip-on, you don't need a PC, but that it's recommended. And you should prob get one if you are not using the stock air filter. They aren't too expensive, there are some on ebay for under $300

Ok so I did find a cheap scorpian, the bottom one is under $300 but its kinda ugly. However I think its better than my bazooka tube.
I think I might get it. But if I dont order a power commander can it hurt my engine or gas mileage in any way?

i dunno if i'd wanna get a "cheap" exhaust just so i can have it sooner than later. You spent how much on the bike, so get a nice exhaust for it. [8D]

i dunno how much exhausts for your bike usually run, being that I have the 05 model w/ the undertail, and they are usually more expensive than the side mount pipes.

that didnt help ninja. I'm not into spending 150-200 more just cause it looks nicer. i want a pipe casue of the sound and the safety of having a louder pipe. But i dont want a screamer. I guess im gonna get a yoshi, but are they a tin can screamer?

Try and listen to them if possible, either in person or by clip download... and get what you want, you'll be happier in the end. Even if you shell out more than planned. Keep an eye on ebay as well...

I was in the same boat you are in when looking at pipes, in the end I went wit a two bros and spent about 875 for the carbon. The sound, the twin can look, and the complenents on them everywhere I go (esp by other 636 riders) I am very very pleased with them. I am kind of biased since that is what I run, but I know alot of others guys on here run the same system. So the numbers don't lie about em. The reason I like em so much is that the have a deep throaty almost growl in the lower RPM's and sound great all the way through the range...

I know they are more than what you are wanting to spend on setup, but I'd still look into them. Couldn't hurt if you did nothing else but look...
