Default Engine Bogging

Hi,

Just picked up a 95 ZX6R today. The bike bogs real bad when I gun it.

i.e. I'm riding at 70-75 mph on the freeway I try to accelerate to go faster but the motor bogs and make a strange noise.

Could it be the carbs? fuel filter?

I can't go faster than 80 mph.

also check gen tech, but yes of course check the filter, the fuel pump pressure and your carbs.

edit: What does your plug chop tell you once you get things close since 80mph may be first or 2nd gear runs. rpms, etc
do a search on carb tuning.

My bike died on the freeway today. I checked the lines last night and ripped my fuel line. 3.5 gallons of 91 octane all up in my garage.

Fuel lines from my tank didn't run anyway. RED and Blue were both plugged off. Is that normal?

I don't have a manual. Anyone have a link. So the Red/Blue lines aren't hooked up in my bike. Red in blocked off and Blue also.

The two other lines at the bottom of the tank run somewhere......

Cleaned my carbs today. Air filter was dirty. Carbs super dirty. Spark plugs rich and dirty. Valves extremely dirty.

Where is my fuel filter located? I'm pretty sure I need to change it out.

so the carbs are apart. I ordered a rebuild kit. I popped off the o-rings and house shaped seals and they've expanded.

Either way a new kit should last the life of the bike.

I was going to use RTV sealant but, something told me not to.........
