Differences between 6R and 6RR FRESH PICS!
I'm curious what is model specific to the RR. I recently aquired a 2004 600M1 that is in need of some repair. I know the motor is 600cc compared to the 6r's 636 and the frame is black and has an adj. swingarm pivot. Since I need to replace all of the lighting and body how serious blaspemy would it be to use more common 636 parts? Could someone list the things that are interchangeable as well as items that may swap but might not be 100% correct on the RR such as the nitrided lower forks ( i think those are only RR)
TIA

RE: Differences between 6R and 6RR
Hey Josh, the nitrided forks are RR only parts but will fit the 636. All your other parts needed can be substituted with 636 parts from any 03 or 04 ZX6R/ 636. The main difference is the engine cc's & slipper clutch, the forksand adjustable swingarm pivot. You can make yours a 636 by installing 636 pistons & cylinders. Nive collection of bikes BTW.

RE: Differences between 6R and 6RR
Thanks Racer,
My original intention was to use it as a thrash bike at the local club track but since discovering it's unique and semi rare nature I'm inclined to spend the money on RR specific parts where needed. The right leg lower is almost $400 by itself and I haven't determined if the rest of the front is good yet. May have to go with 636 forks from ebay for the time being.
as for the collection that's a partial Kaw. specific list add in a 90 CBR1000F, 75 HD shovel, and a 44 HD knuckle....don't get me started on cars....a few pics in my intro post in the newbie forum.

also not mentioned is that the 04zx6rr has dual injectors vs the 03-04 636's have single injectors

RE: Differences between 6R and 6RR
I hate to be a spoil sport Speed but my 04 6RR has four on the intakes ans 4 more in the airbox.... total of 8 or two per cylinder.
How had is it to swap frames? I have the bike tore down to basically frame... motor/trans... swing arm and wheel.... all bodywork is off, airbox removed, rear brakes removed, and wiring harness removed and the service writer at my local dealer quoted me $1000 to basically take my front end, swingarm, and motor to the new frame... seems high to me for what I figure is maybe 4-5 hours...

REALLY?! I looked in the Kawasaki Parts Diagram for the 04 ZX6RRand it showed the same Throttle Bodies & Airbox as an 03 ZX6RR & 636. Unless you have an 05 motor in you 04 or the diagram is wrong. Are the throttle bodies Round or Oval? I wonder if there was alate year change or only the ZX6RR's had them? Interesting!
768 Ryda, does your bike have secondary injectoer also? If so, that is news to me!

RE: Differences between 6R and 6RR
My bike is basically all original except for a few goo-gaws and doo dads that owner #1 put on. Carbon look filler neck sticker and carbon look levers. Original owner traded it in to local dealer last july fairly unmolested with 3811 miles to purchase an ZX-10R special ed. (black w/ flames &red wheeels). Owner two is a friend of my wifes who underestamatedthe bikes power and how a passenger effects CG and wheelied the bike out from under the two of them. He made it approx 5 hours and 71 miles (odo now @3882). I took posession right after the accident. I will be the first owner to do any major parts changing. ( due to the accident) Bike came with all papers and dealer service records as well as both keys and the owners manual. I purchased a OEM service manual for my spercific model ( 600-m1). Fuel system makes up about the first third of the book and references the dual injectors several times.
All this just to say that I'm fairly certain that at least for 04 the double R's came with double injectors. Can't speak for any other years/models however.

PS living in a smaller town with a tight knit bike scene really helps with tracking a machines history.
