Deals Gap trip in june?

RE: Deals Gap trip in june?
Killer man...what days will you be there? I'll give you a ring. We pretty much roll through the dragon a few times and then hit robinsville - up the skyway - hang out at Wheelers almost daily. There are some great roads elsewhere though.
Anyway I have to work on my cam mount. I tested the whole setup the other day and it's still a bit shaky. I have a 520 line sony bullet cam mounted on my fairing that's plugged into my miniDV cam in the "trunk" I have a cameye sport for remote on/off mounted on my top tree. All my wires are hidden away - I think I'll keep this setup on the bike permanently.
Here's a very unimpressive test clip from the other day. It was through a heavily patrolled 40mph area with me wearing flip flips / shorts/ a t-shirt and no lid so I wasn't acting stupid or anything... didn't even get it over 6k but I think the cam angle is pretty slick .. should be some nice dragon footage.

It works pretty nice. I pieced mine together for last years ride. I was using a 480 line cam but it was a model with Sharp CCD and it just looked.... not very good once I got home with the video. This one looks really nice though.
If any of you guys want to see some craziness - roll into Alcoa one night and stop at the Jameson Inn. Should be a ton of us there - these guys party until daylight - sleep a few hours and then ride most of the day. I'm going to be getting a little more sleep this year I think. Last year by the end of the week I was hurting!

We stayed at the Jameson Inn in march when we were down... This time around we have the apartment at the Two wheel inn, and access to their 24x30 garage. We are planning on getting down there about daylight on the 10th, and staying till the 12th... I too have a camera setup, and plan on making another DVD of out trip. With more guys riding, and more guys with cameras I'll have more footage to work with on the DVD. A little over a week, and I can't wait to hit the road down there again!!!

I'm not sure either. It was like 98 degrees and it had to be 105 in my garage where I was wiring up the cam setup. As soon as it was done I jumped on the bike and took it around the bike and filmed that little bit. I guess he's saying I was stupid for riding around the block in sandals and shorts.... hard to tell though.

Easy guys. I was trying to point that riding with no protection other than helmet (regardless of speed and duration of trip) is not very smart IMO. I won't call anyone stupid as everybody has the right to ride as they please, but we all know that any accident wearing sandals and shorts becomes a big one.
Last weekend my friend's brother in law took his bike out to the gas station (two blocks away). A cage ran a stop sign and the hard braking (plus a sliding rear tire) threw the guy over the bars. It would have been a non-issue (aside from a little road rash) ... but with no helmet, jacket or gloves the guy is upwards of $50,000 in medical bills.
Gear is a touchy subject lately.
Cheers!!!

RE: Deals Gap trip in june?
I just got back from up there. Was up in N. Ga, Tenn, and N.C. from Wednesday-Sunday. Wed & Thurs the gap was not real busy, but Friday-Sunday was packed. The POPO was all over the place on the weekend. Not just at the gap. Please be careful.
