Dealership setup
hey...just to warn those who might have the same things happen to them... after wrenching a little on my bike i am starting to notice a pattern in it's setup that others may want to watch for. i am not 100% if the dealer assembles a lot of the accesories and bolts on our bikes but...i noticed
1) a lot of bolts arent torqued properly
2) items using(calipers) multiple bolts to fasten it in position dont all have lock tight on them. just one bolt has lock tight.
i was horrified not catch a few bolts, like my caliper bolts, loose enough to untighten by hand. one bolt was tightend with locktight. the other was almost dangling. blew my mind.
i am going to check the torque of every important bolt within reach. i've lost a few of them already. i mean...damn! come on!

RE: Dealership setup
I guess that is why the manufacturers cover themselves by stating: "check for loose bolts & hardware" during the periodic maintenance & inspections. It's a good practice anyway since vibration can loosen nuts & bolts. I always look the bike over before a long or hard ride. Also when you wash & clean your bike, check the nuts & bolts.
