Dampers
Anyone have an opinion on these dampers. They are a little cleaner looking than some of the others I have seen. Scotts had this to say about their's:
"Why is our Stabilizer so much better than others?
First off, our stabilizer can be adjusted while riding or racing from turn to turn if so desired. Having the damper adjustment right at your finger tips gives you a serious advantage over any other type of damper as you can adjust for road/track conditions as they change without stopping. Because of its unique mounting position, it remains generally out of harms way. Even a fairly severe "lay down" will not effect our stabilizer as it's protected from most crashes. The more common telescopic dampers are damaged in even the most trivial of crashes. Even dropping your bike can damage the telescopic type. The Scotts damper has a "high-speed" damping circuit. Most impacts and head-shake at the front wheel are "high speed" movements, where on the other hand, turning is a low speed movement. If you don't like the feeling the damper provides in turns, you can adjust it out and still retain the resistance to high speed impacts, no other damper has this feature! Not only is the damping rate and high speed circuit adjustable, but the arc of damping movement is adjustable over which it operates. So you have 3 adjustable circuits to customize your style and riding conditions."

RE: Dampers
telescopic ones do break easier when you crash, however it gives you a longer stroke with more oil to allow the valving to work better, and the extra oil helps cool it better...i personally use a side mount and love it, i've been through one lowside with it, but it was on the opposite side. but i do hear alot of good things about the top mounts, i'm able to adjust mine while normal riding, but i don't know about at race pace...i think it comes down to personal preference

RE: Dampers
Scotts, I have one and love it. Adjustments are easy on the fly during normal speeds, at 160 when you need it most, I am hanging on so I can't talk about that. The control has a high low and 22 set points. It is also compact.
Personal preference has a lot to do with it, I prefer the smaller size than say the top mount telescoping units.
You will like what the damper gives you no mater which one you buy probably; I notice much more front-end stability on hard acceleration.
Plus it adds to the pimp factor by looking real good.
Good luck and post some pictures when you get yours.

RE: Dampers
The HyperPro's are good also. They can be adjusted on the fly and are somewhat protected from crashes due to the mount between the upper tripple clamp & gas tank. They look very impressive also.

RE: Dampers
Thanks for the tips. It is a plus to get a sign off from you fellas. I also found this one from 58cycle. It is a little cheaper than the others. I'll post some pics once I decide which one to get. Thanks!!!
