Run synthetic in mine. Used Golden spectrum forever, just switched to Royal purple and there have been ne adverse effects. The guy you bought it from may have just wore out the clutch or it needs adjusting. Good luck and keep us informed!!!

Not sure but I have a 05 636 with 5400 miles and changed at 5100 using semi-sythetic and not have one problem or adjustment. I know it's a different oil but the mileage is about the same. Is oil level too high?

You should have some freeplay at the lever; about an 1/2 to 1inch.
