I use a leather shammy after I wash mine, if you do it right afterwords, you'll prevent those water spots.

Get the carwash kit from the auto parts shop. I use Simple Green and a soft bristle brush to wash the lower parts & wheelsof the bike and a woll mitten to do the painted surfaces. Don't use the same towel for theupper painted areas that you use for thelower parts or you'll scratch the paint from the grit that get on the towel/ wash mit. Texas has hard water to you'll get spots but you can wash it at a self operated car wash which had a spot free rinse. Dust dont use the high pressure stuff and make sure to lubeyour chain with ChainLube& cableswith (Dri Slide) as soon as possible.

i use windex multi purpose with vinegar... make sure however it is ammonia free. ammonia is not good for the paint. The windex gets all the grime and bugs off with ease... then I use a little Pledge ( yes the furniture polish ) and apply it to a microfiber cloth and wipe down the whole bike. The pledge gives it an incredible shine and a slippery "just waxed" feeling. also good to prevent bugs and tar from adhering to the paint. makes the black lower fairing nice and shiny black... almost looks armor-alled

I have heard good stuff about the Honda Polish! Is it not sold in Cali for EPA reasons?

Yeah, California banned the sale of it due to the high number of CFC's. Last I heard, it was to be discontinued but I bought a can of it about 2 months ago at my local dealer.

Someone on here said that using Pledge can actually damage your paint in the long term. Something about the chemical makeup of it that will damage the paint. I can't remember who posted it. I'm pretty sure he was some kind of chemical engineer though.
