Default Charging System????

Has anyone ever had any problems with their charging system. I'm only gettin ~12.6 volts at the battery. It's a brand new battery. Old one probably wasn't bad, but it was the cheapest piece.[:@] Just wondering if anyone has seen this problem on the 03-04's? I was thinking maybe the regulator but I haven't rounded up the batteries and test light yet. Any info is helpful! Thanks.

At what RPM are you testing?

with load off of battery it should be like 13-15vdc, with a load on it should be like 12-12.9ish, with the engine running the load should be like 15+, if your not seeing the VDC im talking about the charging system is at fault, but from what youve said the battery sounds fine

the rpm doesnt matter,
Not dissin' mmi but explain this then. A charging system is yanked out of a track ride. When the batt gets low, the ride starts cutting out due to voltage drop at rpms. Ya with me? But will idle just fine.

True Dragone ,well of course the load will vary but for just doing a test on the charging system you dont need anything over idle, were talking about two diffrent subjects on the charging system, you could have the bike at WFO, and as long as the VDC is climbing its fine, at idle it would be climbing too, you see what i meant when i said the rpm doesnt matter,
