Let me know how the fit & finish is on the fairing/ bike. I'd like to maybe get one for my trackbike.

well i finally got the fairing in and i must say to me it looks really good. the fit is ok, some of the lines dont match up perfect but there not to bad. and on one of the corners is just a bit to long just have to sand it down to fit better. but for the most part it fits nice. heres a few pics of it. next will be the belly pan. just need to find that.

I used to work in a boat yard and carbon fibre is really easy to work with, i f anyone wants to try a project. 4 oz cloth is available in any major city for around fifty bucks a yard by 60". west systems is my prefered epoxy. (105 resin and 205 hardener)

for quick and dirty: Blue tape whatever you want to make a replica off (ie fairing, nose cowl) put 2-sided sticky tape on the inside curves. carefully lay a layer of carbon cloth over the fairing. "wet" it out with epoxy. put another layer of carbon on. wet it out. wait for it to harden (8hrs fully) submerge in water to release tape. trim excess off edges walah! make some mouting points and have it professionally clear coted (i'm bad at painting, and carbon will not withstand elements without a top cote)

eh, ehhh

I think you just volunteered yourself to do a "How To" make Carbon Fiber parts in the DIY section!

Looks great! I think I'll get one for the trackday bike. Plus, Rockwall is local to me and I may even get a discount being that some of our raceteam are buddies with those guys.

rockwall was very good to me. it did take a long time to get it but that was due to the manufacturer taking there time making one for me. but i must say it was definetly worth the wait for it. now i just have to get the belly pan and the rest of the accent pieces.

I hope you paint it. I think it looks like ***. No offense but it reminds me of the high school kid who bought a "sweet" '98 honda civic with body kit that still had it's primer on it and the rest of the car was bright orange.... make that **** match or get a paint scheme or CF out the rest of it...

I wouldn't take that bike anywhere I wouldn't want to be laughed at....

I understand where your comin from with that because i see that same stuff around here as well. But I think a carbon theme on the whole bike would look sick.

So undecided have you... decided if your gonna continue with the carbon around the bike or just leave it like that?
