I can't believe that that's not covered by the warranty... It is a functional part, that sh*t should be covered. Unless they a trying to say that it was user abuse. My vote is you mail them a bag of poo

Sounds like what they are doing to most cars now as well. Instead of having a denser metal they are using lighter metals and breakaways. They use these parts to that they do make it easy to replace (on the bikes) but also as a safety feature as well. Just doesn't seem like it is that safe if it happens when you are trying to stop and it falls apart on you.

Yeah, forgot to metion why it was broken. I was teaching my girl how to ride, starting with simple clutch control by walking with it, and her foot slipped on a wet spot cause the bike to fall on the right side. I believe this drop was the cause of the broken part. Seeing as people drop their bikes quite often, I'm willing to bet this part must be replaced a lot... thus kawi doesn't feel like paying all that money to warrenty it, so they don't bother.

You happen to have any stock pegs laying around you want to get rid of? I need one for shifter and break side.

I'm supposed to be getting some aftermarket pegs in the mail any day now. Keep in mind though, you can get aftermarket pegs for like 15 bucks. (mine were 20)
