Man, I had an Oxford Disc brake lock and put in on the rear disc. I forgot about it and just rolled my bike backwards a littledown my driveway and the POS spread apart like a cheap HO! Must be made of lead or something soft.

i do love these threads. because i do stress over the safety of my bike from ahole thieves. it isnt the ability to replace it but it is just the thought of someone taking something i love that pisses me off.
nothing is going to stop someone from loading your ride in a truck but you can take steps to make your bike less attractive to would be thieves.
i have a scorpio alarm with perimeter sensor. i dont usually set the perim because it likes to go off a lot when cats walk around my bike.
i have a bike store thick chain covered with sturdy fabric. it goes thru my rear wheel and swingarm. then i cover bike and use another cable lock that goes thru the front wheel and a hole in the cover. i think the cover is a good idea because it is one extra thing the thieves have to defeat and it is also keeps your bike out of sight. the thief will want to move on to the R1 with no locks and no alarm. (like my friend's a few months ago)
I have been worried about someone jacking my exhaust while parked..hopefully my alarm will scare them away. i also park in well traveled areas.
it does really suck we have to be so paranoid about our bikes.
