lol
they work, but only for a lazy assshole thief.
a shytehead wants your bike bad enough, he'll bring 2 friends and throw it in the back of an s10.
i do like the alarm/disclock combos tho.. but like i said.. other than a garage, or an armed guard, its hard to keep whats yours yours if someones crafty and prepared to take it..

wife bought me a bully lock for birthday - its pretty nice. prevents anyone from picking up the back and rolling it away. but doesn't prevent a couple guys from picking the whole thing up and walking away with it. its just an extra deterent.

+1 on the Scorpio! The new one has automatic arming & disarming; It self arms when you move away and disarms when you get close to the bike using the built-in proximity sensor. Kind of like the Immobilizer the the Euro models have but the Scorpion has a loud alarm and a pager. Check it out.

keeping what is yours can be tricky when its a nice ninja!
i keep mine in the living room through the winter, and in the summer i park it in the driveway with one of those heavy duty chains that locks the rear tire to a 16' steel I-beam with a hole drilled in it. if i'm going down town and plan on leaving it there for more than a half hour, i park it close enough to a street sign or pole of sorts that i can chain the back wheel to it. the $50.00 chain lock is the best/cheapest way i've found to keep my bike where i left it. just kinda a pain to find parking where you can get your rear tire close enough to an immobile object. yea... pretty much wish i had a scorpian lock!

Another positive about the Scorpio alarm: You can set it up to self arm as soon as you turn off the ignition and arm it manually. I dropped my remote while riding my bike one night; it fell down inside my lower fairing and got stuck between the fairing & exhaust; Melted to S#IT but still worked!!!!!!! I orderer another case for it and except for the brown burn spot on the LCD screen, works perfect. Now that is something to be said about this alarm. I'll try and post some pics of it.
