Default Bent Shifter 06 ZX-6R

Laid the bike going into a turn and the shifter bent as a result. Tried to bend it straight and the shifter broke off. How would I go about replacing the shifter? Is this something a professional should do? If so how much are we looking at? I cant really ride it anymore as I cant really upshift anymore.

ther's a 10MM bolt that goes thru the block on the end of the shifter shaft.. remove that bolt, and the bolt that holds the shift lever to the peg mount (you'll have to pull the pegmount off the bike as well) and that's it..

that little block with he linkage attached will slide off with a little efort.. worst case, take a small flat screwdriver and slide it in the gap and lightly tap it in to pry the block open and release the grip.

keep us posted and if ya need help, just hit us up! good luck, and welcome to KF!! and hopefully you're ok after the accident..

Hey luchini, I have a bent shifter that still works for an 05 you can have till you find one. I got a new one off an 06 or 07 from e-bay for 60 bucks including rod. Let me know, I'll mail it out to ya asap.

Hey guys thanks again for helping me out. It took me like 10 minutes. Undid the 10mm bolt that goes into the block and the 6mm bolt that goes into the peg stand. Reversed it, torqued everything up, and it works! I tightened with a 10mm wrench and 6mm allen key until it was tight and couldnt be turned anymore without stripping the bolt. This should be tight enough or too tight? I heard bikes are really sensitive to how much torque is applied.
