Yosh does make an slip-on for the 05-06 636. The stock bike has an exhaust valve in the muffler that opens and closes depending on rpm and load. The aftermarket slip-ons do not have this and the bike will usually run leaner and loose some low end if you do not add a Powercommander to the bike as well. With the proper tuning (Powercommander) and pipe, you can gain a few hp at top end. There is also a lever that bolts onto the exhaust servo to full the ECU that the valve is working properly. The aftermarket pipes usually come with this piece.

The factory spends alot of $$$$ to get the most horsepower out of their bikes. The bike companies are very competitive on trying to out do each other because that is what makes bike sales.
The stock exhaust system works extremely well in delivering power, style, and meeting noise regulations.
How ever, the stock exhaust is heavier than any aftermarket system. You can save 8 to 12 pounds by either going to a slip-on or by a full system. Another factor is most riders do not like the vacuum motor sound the stock bike makes and want a more healthy sound from their machine.
There are quite a few on the list that just run the slip-on with out any negative results, but if you want the most out of your bike, the Powercommander is the way to go. I tried my bike with the Akrapovic slip on and there was a some loss of the low to mid range, top end felt fine. I installed the Powercommander with the correct map and the bike runs excellent. Can't say if it put out any more hp than stock without a dyno, but she sounds beautiful.

RE: baffle in the muffler?
im going to get the two bros slip on. will the bike run poorly without a pc? like will it stutter or bog anywhere. i dont really care about getting an extra 2 or 3 hp with a power commander but if the bike runs poorly without it then ill get it. also does the exhaust tone change at all if the map is more optimized for hte exhaust?
