Well I drove the bike 75 miles to work today.. Completely due to my ignorance the bike ran out of gas and I had to push it for 1.2miles to a gas station...

The bike ran great and I make it within 3 miles of my house and the bike blew the ignition fuse... Leaving me stranded again on the side of the interstate... I took the blown fuse out and replaced it. The bike still wouldnt start.. I cranked and cranked but it just wouldn't fire up. I started pushing it down the shoulder of the interstate, and on a whim decided to try and crank it again.. It fired right up, so I hauled *** home..

Does this sound like some sort of grounding issue? Why is my bike acting up so much this year?? Makes me want to sell it and go back to a CBR.. ..LOL...

a wise man once told me "the majority of electrical problems are caused by a bad ground" so i'd definately start there. plus it's cheap to clean the contacts

 

+1 either a ground or a positive touching a ground

 

i did the same exact thing, after putting the motor back in i forgot to put the fuel back to on and not reserve, made me feel like a dumbass

 

Weird How I am only loosing the ignition fuse.... I noticed that my "main ground" (the one going from the harness to the frame) was hooked up to the battery ground, not the frame.... I looked at the rest of the wiring and I think that that must be the issue.. anyone confirm this?

 

Well knock on wood, no problems since regrounding.. So glad the weather is cooperating..

 

sounds like your ground was looped instead of grounding the frame.
