Default An Automatic?!?

Okay so I am a little confused.... This has happened to me twice in the almost 2 months I've had my '05. I'm not one for bringing my front end up so I can count the stars, but I have given into the temptation a coule of times. When I have counted the stars my bike has clicked into second on it's own. The first time it happened I thought my foot may have just hit my shifter, last night when I brought it up I made sure my foot wasn't in the position to upshift. Sure enough when I brought it up it kicked into second, is there something going on here that I don't know about, or does my bike just have a mind of it's own?

maybe its telling you to do wheelies faster. and that being in seccond gear before you bring that front up might fix the problem. lol unless your bike desides to click into 3rd.

I've never heard of that before, I have only been practicing doing wheelies, but my friend who is showing me the ropes of doing them, said nothing about clicking up in gears. (but maybe it's with the new ones, I do have an 03)

In about 45 minutes I am off to install my new sprockets, -1 in the front and +2 in the rear. So I have the distinct feeling I will have more "tests" to see if it is a random thing or not [sm=icon_rock.gif]

I am not a mechanic... but after seeing similar things on various other boards, chances are you have a tranny problem. Some parts are worn out of spec, and only under extreme load will it pop out of gear, and is likely catching 2nd. If that's the case, it'll likely only get worse with time.

If it does, oh well... I got the 5yr warranty for almost nothing.... I only notice it when it is wheelied, when I am on it hard for speed or racing never a glitch...

HOLY SH*T..... I just got home from having my mechanic install my sprockets. I thought the bike was fast before hand, it pulls like a freight train even in 6th gear at interstate speeds. When taking off, keeping the front wheel on the ground is about like keeping a fat kid off cake... It is absolutely amazing, well worth the hundred bucks for the new sprockets!

I personally don't do wheelies just never been my thing but I love that wheel coming off the ground on hard acceleration.
Mine is a freaking bullet 0-100 in a blink.
On the freeway cruising at 80 just roll on the throttle and she is gone.
Your right about the cost, best bang for your buck mod you can do.

Take it easy and have fun.

I don't do wheelies to do wheelies, I just love when the front tire gets powered up.... I've got friends that stunt, and they all go down. I like my bike too much to get into that crap, and I like not being in a cast as well...
