RE: air filter
Yes you do...did that myself a few months ago...if I remember correctly there is one bolt on top and 2 on the side...I had my seat off already and I loosened the pivot bolt as well...wasn't tto much work...

RE: air filter
This will start a debate but the facts are the K&N dose delivers more air than the stock filter. The BMC delivers a little more air than the K&N but not enough to make a difference for us normal riders. If you’re racing it would be enough to go with. They are both produced by the same company too.
Yes you will run leaner and may need the PC. The PC is great for FI bikes and is worth the investment.

RE: air filter
Somehow, this thread is going on in 2 places....
I ordered the K&N yesterday, should be here tomorrow - tune-up with air filter and steering damper go on Friday. What I've read was that K&N doesn't require remapping with a PC (but that didn't take into consideration aftermarket pipes - 2 bros here). The BMC (made by K&N also) has even greater airflow, but states that it needs remapping for the air/fuel mixture.
Sunnuvabich, looks like I'll end up with a PC before too long......

I feel your pain gsims, having a bike is a damn money pit!! DO i want to fork out $300 for a PC no way, Id rather buy a XBOX3.
I have a BMC and I dont know the difference but I havent had the bike b4 the BMC was put on. Im going to put my yoshi on this weekend and see what kind of difference I noticed.
When I had my mustang I put off road h-pipe on it and it was definitly running lean, check engine light came on all the time. I put these sleeves i had to buy on the o2 sensors to trick it. I guess the remapping is like this and its prolly gonna have to be done. Dont want to ruin our engines!
