Your better off getting a BMC filter, the K&N have about the same airflow as stockers.... as far as others Power Commader witha dyno tune and sprocket change are always good ones...

Ditto; Go with the BMC Street filter. The PC III will make a big difference or a Race ECU or both.

is it bad to have a BMC race filter for the street also without a PC commander? Should i just change my filter to a stock one?

the more mods u do without the ecu the more lean the bike will run. just make sure the next mod u do is the usb power commander. this way u can change the fuel map everytime u change something.

I looked at the K&N and BMC. They both look like they're made the same way. Cotton Gauze filter media sanwiched in wire mesh. I can't see the big difference in performance numbers between the two. I also went to Pepboys and they had a K&N display where you could compare the flow of a stock filter vs the K&N and the stock flowed a lot less. The K&N flowed just a little less than with no filter installed! That was first hand test.

I'm gonna jump in on this one too. I'm coming up on my 4000mi service. I don't have a power commander....and honestly, I haven't yet thought "man, this bike needs more power".........yet.......however; I know they're gonna be looking at the airfilter for the service, should I have'em swap out the filter......

or the short version of what I'm trying to say:

Not paying for a PC yet, should I still swap out my filter.

yeah, that was easier.....
