Default 99 ZX-6R rear brake light no worky

Alright, so my rear brake light doesn't work when I compress the rear brake pedal (front brake + light work perfect). It never worked to start with when I bought the bike this summer.

When I take apart the foot stay and what not, I can see the electrical module that activates the brake light. When I pull on it, the light turns on. Now, I see there's a small hole in that pull tab so naturally I looked up in the parts catalogue for some sort of spring/wire thingy to pull on it when I compress the pedal.

I ordered this part:

Part # 92145-1090

Finally got it and tried to install it today and realized it's sooooo NOT what I need... Hell I have no idea what this spring does pr how to install it either way!

The springs wiring is too big for the hole in the pull tab so yeah...

Anyways, what's supposed to be there stock to make the light go off? Anyone care to take a pic of their assembly or maybe point me to a part #?

Also what I should be doing with the part I ordered, cause there's no spring to start with behind the foot stay so I might as well install it since it's just sitting here [:'(]

Thanks!

that spring looks like the pedal return spring. as far as the piece that goes onto the switch activator, it uses a pin with a clip type of deal that goes on the very end of the lever itself.

Yeah, like Evil said. That's the wrong spring; it's the pedal return spring. Look at the part diagram in the electrical parts section and it will show it there.

Figured it was the wrong spring...

I don't have this spring installed either, but my pedal returns without it?

How do I install the pedal return spring?

Anyone got pics of the brake light cable?

Sorry for all the questions, the damn manual expects me to put **** together like lego with their diagrams

Look in the ignition switch/locks/reflectors page and it shows the spring. 27011-017 is the part you need.

Jeeze I'm stupid... I'm gonna order that part Monday!

But where does the bottom hook onto?

(Any place I can see how to properly install the pedal return spring?)

There should be a hole near the pedal return spring; if not just hook it to that.
