New poster here. I was trying to help my Brother out to help pay for school so I picked up his slightly wrecked '98 ZX6R He had laid it down and tore it up pretty bad but it seems structurely and mechanically decent. I've actually been out of the bike market for about 15 years now and back then I was a Honda Guy. Maybe I should duck for cover after that comment.

I thougth this would give me something to Tinker with over the winter. So I'm wondering if anybody has any good outlets for used parts or a cheap vendor for new OEM Parts.

From the initial inspection until I have a chance to take it apart and get a better look at things. It will definitely need a new upper fairing, windscreen, new bracket for the instrument cluster and mirrors and mirror bracket, left side handlebar (it's slightly bent) and a left side passenger foot peg. Then it will also need new tires before it gets ridden again.

Does anybody know if the aftermarket fiberglass stuff is anygood or is it better to just try to find a used plastic one?

Any advice, suggestions, etc would be appreciated.

you can try www.ronayers.com
they have an online microfiche and they can order you almost anything you'd want.
So basically you'd want to find parts for anything from 98-99 2000-2002 zx6r's (different uppers and headlights, and faring brackets but same bike.)
also 2005-present ZZR600 same bike as the 2000-2002 ZX6r but new badging.
