Default 94 zx6 questions

Hey everyone, I am looking at upgrading from an 89 ex500 to a 94 zx6. The bike that I am looking at the headers and the midpipe are rotting out. It has a single D&D pipe on it. Does anyone have any input on what years I could look for a used system? I assume it is 94-01 from what i've been seeing, but I want to double check. Also, would it matter if it is off of a zx6 or a zx6r? Thanks for the help, im sure ill be on the forums again soon. -Jordan

Welcome to KF!

Not quite sure on compatability, check part numbers on the fiche but I think you should have no trouble finding parts. I'm kinda worried about why the exhaust is gone, was the bike left outside? It might have more damage than just that, check it close before you drop the cash. Enjoy the new ride bro!

most early exhausts will rot out from what I have seen. So do not buy the bike because of its loud and rotting exhaust. Not sure on what you are after. Performance this time around? Or still street worthy? Good luck
