first thing that came to my mind was that when you stand it up, your depriving part of the head of oil, the sound isn't deadened by the oil, it's metal on metal so it sounds louder

well if it was depriving the head of oil... shouldnt it have gone away when i set it back down? its never done it before... thats what im saying. so by doing one wheelie, it shouldnt sound like that... i dont think.. its only got like 7500 miles on it...
thats what an oil pump is for, so the engine doesnt starve itself from oil

ok, in a wheelie, the oil will rush to the back of the engine... where the oil pump is... soooooooooo no. the wheelie isnt the problem... im pretty sure its the cam chain tensioner

You are correct on the placement of the oil pump. Had to look in my manual.
Have you tried what I mentioned above on the CCT? or speeds recommended method?

soooo, its not the cct. im dropping the engine tomorrow morning. my buddy is going to start to tear it down top to bottom. first he will inspect the head. it might be a valve. im hoping thats all it is. cuz i have no money for a gasket set. if not, hes gonna crack the case..
