Anyone know what the est. top speed for our bikes is? (factory of course....)

 

It all depends on weather conditions est top speed is some where around 170 mph

 

no clue havent tried but i know my buddy 06 gsx-r 600 will do 173. only ever got my 636 to 161 then had to let off ran out of room

 

Subtract approx. 15 mph from the stock speedo reading and you will be close to the actual speed. That is still mighty fast.

 

Sport Rider Magazine got 166 actual measured speed from their test. I have had mine up to 163 "Indicated MPH" so far but my speedo is around 10% off. The error is greater if your rear tire is worn more.

Or run a lower profile tire.

 

I got a 636 wheel off ebay a few days ago that had a 190/50-17 on it.

 

BEFORE THE JUMPER WIRE MOD MINE WOULD ONLY GO 144MPH. AFTER THE MOD IN THE MID 150'S. MY SPEEDO READS ABOUT 10% FAST.

 

144? wtf? I got mine up to 176 before I let off I had about 500rpm's or so before redline. Kind of hard to tell, but I wasn't paying that much attention. This is indicated MPH not actual.

 

Same thing here, 176 on the speedo (so the adjustment makes it ~ 161?) - don't think it was quite done climbing, but knew I needed a lotta road to slow down from there. Haven't tried the jumper mod, my bike lives in the high rpms... anyone have truly noticeable benefits from the mod? Any risk/reason I shouldn't do the mod? Will it help me pull away from my buddy on his 636?
