Default 2005 636 cylinder order numbering

I see in the manual that the order of the cylinders is 1-2-3-4 from left to right....what is the reference point...is that standing in fron of the bike of sitting on the bike...i am assuming sitting on the bike, making cylinder 1 on the side of the clutch and shifter...is this correct?

I beleive your right, should be the same for every 4 cylinder. Now if you need the firing order, I cant help you.

see pg 17-2: This gives a good injector number corresponding to the cylinder number.

I like to try and remember it as sitting on the bike, the cam sprocket is on the right at cylinder number 4. (For the majority of the newer rides out there.)
