Default 10r brakes?

Are the bolt patterns on the wheels the same for the 636 and the 10r? They look as if they would be a step up from the mediocre brakes put on the 636.

Now that I looked around a bit a lot of 10r owners use 14r calipers.

The 636 brakes are the same as ZX10R brakes (calipers). The 10R rotors are .5mm thicker to dissipate more heat without warping because of the extra weight. The 05-06 636 have radialMaster Cylindersand are just as good as anything else out there. In fact all the new superbikes have the same Radial Master cylinders made by Nissin. All that is needed with the 636 brakes is the steel braided lines, high temp brake fluid and a good bleeding. The link brake line between the 2 calipers is part of the problem. Air can rise up & get trapped there causing spongy brakes when heated up.

The link line being the cross over line of the calipers right?

I put stainless lines on, they run both from the master. It made a difference but not as huge as everyone told me.

Cross drill your bolts and re-bleed. Bleed again after riding.

Try super-bike or speigler lines and Vesrah 17 padswith good fluid before you switch out the system.

You would be surprised how much differenceit makes.

Stay clear of Brembo as they are addicting. Once you get a Brembo setup you will be hooked. I ran a 19X18 and 19X20 with mono blocks and can't wait to get the 19X19 rumored to be coming out.

hahaha, Brembo is maybe my next resort. SB lines with vesrah sjrl17 pads at the moment. Lines themselves helped some but are not a total cure on some rides like my 10r.
