07 6r fi light
Last Wednesday I rode the bike to work.... toke around mid-afternoon to go home pick up the wifey and pack for our trip to Dallas cuz I was getting sent for training. Bike sits there almost 3days untouched. Sunday morning the wifey is gonna go out for a ride and the FI light turns on....... leaves us scratching our heads.
Is there anyway that we can find out what this is without having to take it to the dealership? If anyone can point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it Thanks!

try seeing if the servo for the exhaust butterfly is opening and closeing. its underneeth the tail on the bottom of the exhaust. turning the key on and off you should see the cables moving back and forth.

Ok I did the self diagnostic test and got code 15 on the lcd screen. Which is - atmospheric pressure sensor malfunction, wiring open or short. Does anyone have a picture of where this sensor is located?
I need to get a manual I know lol. Your help is very much appreciated guys thanks

The wifey and I havent had a chance to mess with it. I found some specs for the sensor online but I dont know how trustworthy that information is. This weekend we'll probably go get the manual, dont really have time during the week. Then work is alittle busy right now its kinda hard to stay motivated to work on the bike after working all day on cars lol
Anyone know more-or-less where this sensor is located or a picture would be very helpful. If not its only acouple of day to the weekend lol

Well my wife and I went to kawasaki to order the manual. Apparently its a special order....I got to talking to one of the guys there. At first he sold me that B.S that in order to find out what was wrong we needed to take it to them so they can use the diagnostic computer... I told him we had done the self diagnostic test and retreieved the code... Apparently it has two atmospheric sensors. One underneath the tank and the other on the tailend by the exhaust. According to him the rear one usually goes out because of the exhaust heat. We're gonna check it out and replace it if must.

The atmospheric sensor is mounted to the throttle body and it should only have one. Does the bike run fine? Is it still under warranty? There are 2 sensors that are the same but do 2 different things. One is the Atmospheric sensor and the other is the intake air pressure sensor (same part). Try switching them to see if the problem follows. Make sure a Mud Dawber hasn't made a nest in the sensor's little hole or that it's not clogged up. It happens especially in Texas if you leave vehicles & planes stationary for more than a day. Those mud dawbers will make a nest in an hole. P.M me if you can't get it solved. I may have an extra sensor.
