SportRider Magazine did their 600 Shootout and the ZX6R didn't fare that well. The biggest complaint was the lack of power. However, they mentioned the ECU Jumper Modthat they did to net an extra 5 HP! It made a difference up top and if they did that during the shootout runs, I think the outcome definitely would have been different.

 

the mag i have for the 07 shootout never mentioned the jumper mod the big gripes in this one was weight, the fact that the weight was distributed 50/50 instead of 51/49 and it was a little shaky in the front end without tweaking for some riders. well if u get rid of the stock can u can lose 11 pounds for cripes sake lol. personally i have an 07 and i LOVE it. although i wish they would use both headlights for lows and highs. MAN am i ever sick of people flashin their damn highs at me to tell me i got a light out. all the bikes were within 3mph i think in the top end...don't quote me though

Ha, I have the same problem. Atleast 5 people have told me that my headlight was out, then I hit the Highbeam switch and that solves the problem.......

 

ZX6R won the supersport world championship in 2007 so that should tell you what it's capable of in the right hands.

Um as did my bike in 2002 ahem ahem.

 

i just ride with my high beam on. I know i am deffinately seen

speed has a dual headlight mod if your interisted

 

i dunno why they dont just make it already dual headlighted.

 

Cost. It is cheaper to have a projector setup for low and one for high.

 

hey speed i read that article and they gace the honda the props tho in the shoot out for what i read and the zx6 had the lowest hp and 1/4 mile times and weight more than the other 600's also
