06 zx6r gearing...
okay i have gone around and asked some ppl and most get the most efficent gearing at -1 front +2 rear...now with that said will i need to fit another chain longer than the oem chain length...i have rk chain on there now that is the same length because i still have oem sprockets on it...
also what kind of torque if anybody dyno'd it got from it??? how low did it drop redlines??? what are the best sprockets to buy????
i have search for speedo heal kit but most (for this bike) have to actually do some hard wiring...any kits just plug and play??? and, the one i was looking said that i would be needing to find out how off the bike is which i do not know (calibration value) anybody know for gear ration oem of 2.87 to (-1 front, +2 rear) 3.21???

RE: 06 zx6r gearing...
well i have done alot of research and found out this website that really helps calculating speed and gear ratio's at each gear!!!
http://www.gearingcommander.com/
now i am still so over whelmed by all of the things that have be taken into account for the best gearing selection...at the stock gearing it should reach 165mph top...but with aftermarket parts and weight reduction is alittle higher...if i go higher in gearing ratio i can recieve longer lasting chains because the front sprocket is larger...i also can get better utilization of each gear without having to change gears much...but also lose all of my acceleration... but great for those that commute and use the freeway most of the time...
and visa versa for lowering the gear ratio...if i lower it... i will see better acceleration but will lose anywhere from 2 mph to 20 mph off of top speed...will also increase chain wear with smaller front sprocket, will have to change gears more, but good thing is that accleration just got a second or two quicker...and as a racer or a canyon road goer will have a better use of the rpms and higher gears...but will sacrafice more wear on parts for torque and power..
decisions decisions...this thinking is making want to just forget i even try to change it...
but what ever way you go especially if you go for higher gearing ratio might want to invest in speedo heal kit...

The HP & Torque won't really change by replacing your chain & sprockets (Re-gearing) but the power & torque will be availble at a lower RPM. -1, +2 (Front/ rear) is the most popular and best recommended for good power and fuel economy at the same time. And you should still be able to use a stock length chain.

RE: 06 zx6r gearing...
thank god...it is on a rivet system anyways so i wasn't going to cut it...but i was starting to worry...but i will try it...i was thinking also about stealth sprockets but cannot find them greater than oem sizes for front or rear...
might go with afam or did...

Check with Chad atwww.sprocketcenter.com for the stealth sprockets. I have one for my 03 and we have couple of sets in different sizes for the race-bikes. He gave us a great deal on the last groupbuy.

i don't think that stealth has front sprockets...i didn't see any and i searched for thiem pretty long time...you think it is okay to have different sprocket company's sprockets on the front and rear???
