theres a nice big wide open place close to where i live and i went riding with some people, some from 2 down rydas motorcycle club went, from nashville tn, anyways they can vouch for me but i hit 167 uncorrected on my 03 636, just a 2bro slip on. there was a 02 or 03 r6 that hit 165 and everyone else had gsxr 1000's and one guy had a zx10. the liter guys were hitting 185 before redlineing. anyways i think all 600's prolly hit around 160 at least.

07' 6R with two bros slip-on GPSed 161mph in 6th at 15,500rpms... bike would'nt pull to redline in 6th for some odd reason
not enough power, but 161 is a nice run.

I'm telling you she can go faster. Do the ECU Jumper Mod and get in a full tuck behind the fairing/ windshield. Also, tuck in your mirrors.

I know this was mentioned in a round-about way, but I hope most realize that 1/4 mile numbers from US mags and top speeds for stock US model '05/'06 636s are all crippled because of the US ECUcrap that Kawi put in for emissions (?). I read a couple of UK mags when in Europe and a couple said top speed is 170 (GPS, not indicated).

When I got my '05 636, Iperformed the simplejumper mod for Euro ECU (first thing I did), and have seen 177 indicated with more to go before I let off... and the bikewas bone stock. So that vid is accurate on a stock bike.

My 07 did have the jumper mod done, but all i read is it does away with the exhaust valve if i'm not mistaken, and my muffler with the valve is laying on my garage floor... but it was 161 mph with the jumper mod too

I just read a comparison test of the 07 CBR600RR and the 07 ZX6R: The CBR is a better bike this time. It has 5 more HP and weighs 33 lbs less than the ZX6R. This time the CBR is more comfortable too. I am a Kawasaki man at heart but you have to give credit where it's due. Honda did a better job this time and Kawasaki has to play catch-up. I believe that they went backwards this time. I was designed to handle like the 250 MotoGP bike but the extra weight and lack of power won't do all that handling any good ifit can't keep up. If I was going to race professionally, I would get the CBR600RR this year. Actually it's a better streetbike than the ZX6R also. Don't know what's going to happen next year. Looks like the 636 is still KING!

ok so i was incredably sceptical and absolutly love my 636 but i got to ride a friends 07 last night, and ohhhhh MY GOD!!!!! the thing handles like a dream feels like 120 lbs lighter and absoltly dives into turns, absolutly incredable,

i hated the clutch though
