Default 06 636 City Lights

Ok, so what is the deal with these alleged "city lights"? These are the would-be little orange lights in the upper corners of the headlight housing. On the American 06 636 C1, they don't actually exist. Their would-be location is prefferated, but not yet drilled out. The fricken wiring harness for them is there, just nothing plugged in. So I'm wondering, do these lights only exist on the Euro models, or did they used to exist in an older model of the 636? I went ahead and drilled the holes for them, then soldered up some LEDs and resistors to place there. I'll be doing the install tonight. I'm just curious why they aren't there. Was $2 cheaper and 15 seconds less assembly time worth that much to Kawasaki?

It's just a regional thing. It's cheaper for Kawasaki to use just one harness instead of having a different harness for every need. Manufacturers for cars, trucks, large machinery, and so on have always made tried to make their parts as universal as possible to keep costs down.

well the cost to them may be down but The Stealership really jacks up the prices on things.

Thats good news I guess... I was going to do some LED lights in the corners of the headlight housing this winter when its to cold to ride. Ya, that does suck. Anyway, I was thinking about wiring them into my turnsignals though. Since there already there, my be not. If everything works out this winter, she should be a whole new bike for next season. Its going to be alot of work though...

You can make those into running lights that blink with the turn signal also. That is how I sell my dual headlight kits; with the LED running/ TS lights.
