05 636 front end shudder under braking
Hi, I'm new to the forum and have searched and can't find any answers to my problem. I'm helping a friend out with his 636. The problem that he has is that he changed the front pads rode about 40 miles then went to the dragons tail and beat on his bike. He said toward the end of his ride he was slowing from triple digit speeds and he got a violent shake from the front. I rode it and when you brake from highway speeds it almost feels like abs chatter in the front end, but the shake goes away completely at around 50mph and below. I changed the fluid, got new pads because i thought he destroyed the old ones by not giving them enough brake in and scuffed the rotors and the problem is still there. Wheel bearings and stem bearings feel fine. Any suggestions?
edit: I also swapped the rotors with a set of used ones that he bought and still same thing. Pads are EBC double H street

Rotors aren't necessarily ruled out since the newer rotors that i installed had been used and could be off as well but i doubt it. Tire was re balanced after i installed the new rotors. My first thoughts were that he over heated the pads and that they had left deposits on the rotors. Maybe i need to get some heavier sand paper and really go at them. Thanks for the suggestions so far

I would have guessed the wheel weight toss if it was shuddering at speed, but since it seems to be only happening during hard braking, I would get another set of rotors. Why would you put a used set on? I'm going to say that the problem is the rotors. I guess you could get them machined and re-installed, and see if that helps. Good luck.

Hey Dragone? When a shop or service center balances motorcycle wheels, how do they do it? Is there high speed balancing like for cars? Just curious. I've never seen it done. Thanks.

I prefer static balancing. And you will find that most shops will do the same.
