Default 03 04 Cali model gas tank

I picked up a used tank on ebay for a decent deal to replace my old dented tank. New one is a California model, I guess. I have two extra vents coming from theback of the tank, in addition to the overflow. I was wondering what I should do with the extra venting on the CA tank. I assume the two extra vents on the back of the tank lead into a charcol canister or something to trap gas vapor before it is vented into the air. Not sure if it also allows air into the tank to prevent vacuum from stopping fuel flow.
I guess my question is do I need to do anything with the vents? Cap them off, or leave open, or vent into something?

Cool, thanks. Hopefully will be running by the end of the month. Got an 06 head, just waiting on a few other parts to rebuild the valvetrain.

Got the cams too? Should rock up top end speed! I have one sitting for mine also. I'll be installing an 05-06 head with cams, and complete 05-06 transmission with the slipper clutch. Just waiting to get enough miles on my stock motor. 17K plus so far.

Cool, yeah I have cams too. Actually have an extra set of 06 cams if anyone is interested. Nearly had the transmission and clutch to swap out, but didn't really have the cash to commit to it at the time. I think I'm done with the mechanicals on this one. Any extra money spent from this point will go to greenifying the bike. Just need some side farings now. Parts are on the way to button up the motor.
