RE: 01 zx-6r lowering link
thanks again. i checked both sites. got the ones off of Spyderracing. thanks. now, as for install. i'm sure installing them isn't hard... but what else do you have to do to the bike to even it out? i know it's something to do w/ the handlebars sliding down over the 'fork' right?

I am 5'5". I bought lowering links that had holes to drop 1-1/2" or 3 ". I did the 3" drop andit fits me perfectly. I found a pair of stainless steel lowering links off ebay for around $20. I own a 2000zx6r, so the application shouldbe the same. It took me only 30 minutes to install, nothing to it. Don't worry about the supposed loss in performance, I've never been able to notice a difference, and I've been riding bikes for 10 years.

you should be alright with any of those lowering links on ebay.. my friend had some of them, its just metal with holes stamped in them, hard to mess that up no matter who you are.. but as for the front of your bike, you are going to have to loosen up all the bolts that attach the clip-on's and triple tree, then slde them down on your forks, your forks will now stick up through your yoke on top, just take a ruler and get them as close as possible when you tighten them down.. here's two pics with the forks you can see how they stick up.. it shows better on the yamaha thats the only reason i posted it..

RE: 01 zx-6r lowering link
I didn't adjust the front, and most people do not find a need to. If you look at your handles, they can be loosened and moved down a small amount if you want. That particular style of handle is referred to as a "clip-on". Just make sure that you still have total left to right range of motion in the handlebars if you do this. Too much adjustment and the handles could hit the tank or frame. If you want to get real high tech, you can change the springs in the fork tubes to lower thefront some. But that would be a waste of time. What I found in my experience, was that the handles fit just fine after lowering the rear. Being 5'5", if I moved the handles down at all, or lowered the front end much, I would be leaning way the hell to far down.

RE: 01 zx-6r lowering link
thanks for all the advise and tips. a friend of mine who is into bikes came over yesterday and showed me how to lower my front. seems easy enough but it's kinda scary knowing that only 4 clips hold my whole bike up on the fork lol.
