Hey "520 racing ZX14"
Yeah, you're going to need the Power Commander. From what I understand, the air to fuel ratio needs to be adjusted when thevalves are removed. Otherwise, it could damage your engine. It's not worth the risk.
If the only mod you have is a two bros exhaust, you can just go to the dyno jet sight and download the map. Saves you the money on a custom map.

RE: Removed--OVERHEATING
Sorry to break in like this but I am a squidd in forums, never posted before but looked alot.'I have a new o8 zx14, has anyone solved the overheating thing at stop lights?
Come off the freeway and get caught at 2 redlights and it over heats to the point of alarm status.
My xz10 was ALMOST that bad but learned to stay away from red lights, slit lanes and just blow lights entirely. anyway, this zx14 over heating at trafic lights will getout of hand and it is not even summer yet.
any ideas?

Thanks. Yes. All is as it should be. The first clue was in the owners manual that said that "if the bike sits and runs/idles, you risk the engine burn updamage.
The fan comes on like it should but it will not come close to pulling the temp down. he ONLY way to cool it off i is to get back on the freeway o shut down.
I was thinking of adding an extra fan and just adding a second fan and a toggle switch to mount somwhere but woulf rather add fatter radiator but would rather not doit. Would rather that Kawasaki realized that these bikes cannont handle common everyday riding and took care of it so I dont have to.
I guess I will add tge fans abd switches my self unless I can get a "movement of ZX14 riders all cryin about th same thing.
well

RE: Removed--OVERHEATING
I have ridden my 14 in 100 degree weather in North Carolina and yes, the temp climbs up at stoplights, but it has never totally overheated. Before I started rewiring the fan switch or modifying the bike, I would get some of the high performance coolants and go to Amsoil synthetic.
If your bike is not broke in, it will run slightly hotter until you get around a thousand miles on it, then you will notice that it will run slightly cooler.
I have heard that ceramic coated headers help the 14 run cooler, havent tried that yet.
