Boiling gas and other stuff!
Just thought I would let you guys know, that in the summer, when the temps are 90 degrees plus range, that when you ride the hell out of your 14 then go into town and start hitting red lights, you will hear the gas boiling in your tank.
So far I have not heard of anybody blowing up, so dont freak out when you hear it. Also when you stop and get off the bike, sometimes you can hear a small whistling which is air escaping out of the gas cap.
The 14 runs really hot in the summer, and with 12 to 1 compression, that's just the way it is. By running Royal purple synthetic oil, and using the high performance coolants, you can drop the temp by around 20 degrees but she still runs hot.
At stoplights you will see the temp gauge climb close to the top bar, but unless it starts flashing, dont worry about it. You will also notice that once she hits some street lights, and the temp runs up, it normally will not go back down to the halfway mark, until you get on the open road and get to 70 miles per hour. The 14 just doesn't like to run slower than 70 when it's hot as hell outside.
And remember this, when you get her all broken in, and decide to see what she'll do, work your way up slow cause she likes to do wheelies. When you get to revin to around 8000 rpms between shifts, stay tucked over the tank, and keep the rear brake covered so if she comes up, your ready. If your launching for the first time, keep it down to 4000 rpms until you get used to her. If you want to burn out, 4k is also the majic number for that as well.
Just some things to know Bro's
