Default WHAT IS THE PROPER BREAK IN METHOD?

Can anyone help me with explaining the proper break in method of a new bike. The manual says to take it lite the first 1000 miles and then some people say that you should break it in harder. What is the real method for the break in of a new bike? Some one help me.

Personally, I would follow the manufacturers guidelines. I would think the Trained master builders of the bikes would know what they are talking about. JMO tho' That 10r is awesome, huh!!!
