05 is freakier than o6
i own an o5 zx10r and it is an 05 and it is also my first bike(legally) i owned a katana 750 before but embaresed to admit it.well back to the topic i went to detroit to look at the 06s and one of the guys seen me pull up on my 05 and seen me looking at the 06 with a friend and he walked by and looked at us and said to my friend if you want a freaky bike you cant beat your freinds 05 meaning mine! man did i feel good he told us he owned both of the bikes and they calmed the power down alot in the 06 and made it friendlier to the rider! i dont like freindlier i like nuts and mean like my bike. i have installed a k and n filter and a power camander andi got 9 .98 horses from it and now im at 154 and when i can afford a acropovic full system i hope to be close to 170 then it will be a freak of nature! i love the zx10r the 05 and 06 i would bye both but live mine the most

Yeah, I like the 05 better also. It has more power and revs faster. I'd like to get one; someday.

isn't the 04 the "meanest" of the 10r's???? the 06 isn't as mean the but test have shown its a faster/more powerful bike than the 05. the 06 is civilized when you need it to be.

resurrected!
The only changes between the 04 and 05's were color choices. The 06's redesigned engine, aerodynamics and frame geometry. Tamer is a good word for what they did to the 06. Engine was raised in the frame more, has a heavier flywheel and increased rake/trail numbers (but went with a 190/55 rear tire). Those last two changes keep her on the ground most of the time( the 55 series kinda negates the added rake and trail.) Also went with 1mm smaller intake valves for velocity improvements along with the said improved ram air. The biggest improvement differences were the redisign and location of the generator and also the radial M/C along with the longer dogbones on the 06. But the 06 is not a slouch either. It still requires good throttle control like everything else. All of the 10r's are a fun ride, especially once the suspension is dialed in for you.
